In the center of Ufa, a pack of stray dogs attacked a schoolboy. This was announced on Friday, January 28, by the press service of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Investigative Committee for the Republic of Bashkortostan.
Earlier in the day, a video appeared on the Web showing how a pack of about a dozen dogs followed the child. The incident took place on Ayskaya Street. A pack of stray dogs attacked a schoolboy, trying to bite him on the legs, the Zvezda TV channel notes. Nearby was a janitor who, noticing what was happening, rushed to the child’s aid and drove the animals away.
The Investigative Committee launched a pre-investigation check on the fact of the incident for the negligence of local authorities and the company hired to catch stray dogs.
Law enforcement officers are interviewing witnesses, employees of the administration and organizations for catching stray animals, the 360 TV channel notes.
Earlier on January 28, Vladimir Urazhevsky, President of the Russian Union of Cynological Organizations, told what to do in the event of an attack by stray dogs. The specialist drew attention to the fact that when meeting, in no case should you wave a package or bag, because in this way you can only provoke animals. It’s better to move on calmly.
Urazhevsky warned that attempts to fight back can only increase aggression, since the dog may think that a person is attacking. You can stop aggressive behavior, confuse the dog, by gently and unsharply spraying deodorant, perfume or spray can.
