The reason for the hard landing of the Mi-8 military helicopter near the village of Dubki in the Ulyanovsk region could be a technical malfunction. This was announced on Friday, January 28, to journalists in the Russian Defense Ministry.
“The crew was not injured. The crew was evacuated to the base airfield by the search and rescue service. According to preliminary information, a technical malfunction could have been the cause of the incident,” the ministry said.
According to some reports, there were three people on board the helicopter.
The aircraft incident occurred earlier that day. It was reported that the helicopter fell on the ice of the river.
