Dollar: how much the currency will reach at the end of 2025, according to the market

The Central Bank of the Argentine Republic (BCRA) published this Tuesday the Market Expectations Survey (REM) carried out during December, which offers the forecasts from the city’s gurus for the dollar, inflation and other key variables of the economy.

Thus, the median of the REM nominal exchange rate projections was located at $1,041.90 (+$0.30 compared to the previous REM) by the end of January, which would imply a monthly rise of 2%, like the current “crawling peg”.

Likewise, analysts projected that at the end of February, official dollar will be located in $1,057.60 (-$4.1 compared to the previous survey), that is, slowing down the adjustment to 1.5% monthly. Then, starting in March and ending in June, the crawl is slightly reduced to 1.2% or 1.3%.

Looking ahead to the end of 2025, city gurus project that The official dollar will close at $1,205.50, which represents a substantial drop of $44 from the previous report. Thus, the market expects the currency to accumulate throughout the year an increase of 18%, about nine percentage points less than the expected inflation in 2025 (25.9%). That is, for the market there will be greater exchange rate appreciation.
