At the age of 93, the director and animator Maya Buzinova, who took part in the creation of the cartoon “Cheburashka”, passed away. This was announced on January 30 by the editor-in-chief of the Soyuzmultfilm film studio Sergey Kapkov.
“Maya Nikolaevna Buzinova, who animated Cheburashka. ‹…› (Director) Yuri Norshtein often says that all the uniqueness, touchingness, defenselessness and tenderness of this character come from her. ‹…› And dozens of cartoons were filled with life thanks to the talent of Buzinova,” he also wrote on Facebook.
Maya Buzinova was born on July 23, 1929 in Orel. From 1947 to 1954 she studied at the Moscow Art and Industrial School. M.I. Kalinin. At the Soyuzmultfilm film studio, Buzinova worked as an animator from 1956 to 1977. She also worked on the cartoons “Mitten”, “Golden Boy”, “Aibolit and Barmaley”, “The Littlest Gnome”.
After that, until 1992, the artist worked in the Multtelefilm studio of the Ekran creative association. There, she already participated as a director in the creation of the cartoons “Uncle Au”, “Swineherd”, “Little Ginger”.
