To be valid in pharmacies, the elements that must appear on an electronic prescription include:
- Doctor information: name, professional registration, specialty and address.
- Bar-code: used for digital verification.
- Patient data: full name, ID, social work, date of birth and sex.
- Medication details: generic or commercial name (if recommended by the doctor), quantity and presentation.
- Diagnosis: clinical indication for which the medication is prescribed.
- Issue date and digital signature of the professional of health.
