More than 70% of parents spoke about the desire of the child to get higher education

70% of parents of students in grades 8-9 said that their child plans to enter a higher educational institution. This is evidenced by the survey data of the educational company MAXIMUM Education, received on January 31 at the disposal of Izvestia.

«70% of respondents said that their child plans to enter a higher educational institution after school. 23% have not yet decided on this decision, 7% of parents answered that the child will not go to university, ”the message says.

It also became known that, according to 82% of parents, higher education is an important factor for success. 66% of respondents expressed the opinion that a diploma will help to take a strong position in society and achieve heights in a career.

However, 69% of parents called Russian education “extraordinarily expensive.”

61% of respondents note that their child has not yet decided on the choice of specialty / profession, which he will go to study.

In addition, parents of schoolchildren were asked what they think is the main factor in choosing an educational institution. 45% of respondents note such a factor as the child’s desire to study at this university. 6% indicate the prestige of the educational institution, 2% – the cost of education, for 42% of parents, the combination of all three factors is important. Part of the respondents (5%) chose the option “other” and indicated as the main one: the direction of education corresponding to the inclinations of the child, the availability of the required specialty, the level of teaching.

Schoolchildren of the 8th and 9th grades also took part in the survey. 72% of them noted that higher education plays an important role in achieving success. 69% of the guys consider the presence of a “crust” an important factor in achieving life and career heights.

“80% of schoolchildren expressed their intention to ever get a higher education, 14% have not yet decided, 6% do not plan to enter a university. The fact that they have not yet decided on the choice of specialty/profession for which they will go to study was reported by 46% of schoolchildren,” the experts said.

As the founder and CEO of MAXIMUM Education, Mikhail Myagkov, noted, many schoolchildren “aim for a specific university, not a specialty,” and, according to him, this suggests that “career guidance programs are sorely lacking in schools.”

On January 24, it became known that 40% of Russian schoolchildren want to receive a salary of more than 60 thousand rubles at their first job. Most often, students from the Murmansk and Kaliningrad regions, the Crimea and the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug spoke about plans to earn from 60 thousand rubles. Schoolchildren from Kalmykia, Pskov and Novgorod regions, on the contrary, were less likely to name high numbers.
