SK charged a man after setting fire to an apartment in Moscow

Investigators have charged a man who set fire to the apartment of a former cohabitant in Moscow. This was announced on Monday, January 31, in the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.

As the defendant told the investigation, he brought the personal belongings of the former cohabitant to the door, set it on fire and left the entrance.

It is noted that the defendant was detained under Art. 91 of the Code of Criminal Procedure of the Russian Federation, the necessary investigative actions were carried out with him.

Chertanovsky Interdistrict Investigation Department is investigating a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Art. 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (attempted murder of two or more persons).

In addition, the Moscow prosecutor’s office took control of the arson case.

Earlier that day, it was reported that a man was detained in Moscow on suspicion of setting fire to an apartment. The 43-year-old man threatened his cohabitant to burn down the apartment if she did not come home on time. The suspect later moved from threats to action.

The fire occurred on the evening of January 29 in a residential high-rise building on Dorozhnaya Street. According to preliminary data, three people were injured, two of them are in intensive care. A total of 12 people were rescued from the burning house.

It was possible to avoid the tragedy thanks to a neighbor. He opened the window and helped the students down from the blazing apartment they were renting.

Earlier that day, a man died in a fire in a semi-detached house in the Amur Region. Rescuers eliminated the fire after 17 minutes. During the extinguishing, the body of a man born in 1973 was discovered. The circumstances and causes of the incident are being established. A trial is underway.
