Earlier had made another post where he had remarked: “Freedom for Nahuel Agustín Gallo, unjustly arrested and incommunicado 51 days ago in Venezuela. His family needs his release, we are waiting for him to return home. ”

On January 2, Javier Milei’s government filed the complaint with the same body for arbitrary detention and forced disappearance of the Gendarme.

The intervention of the Inter -American Commission on Human Rights

The national administration also resorted to the Inter -American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) that on January 3 granted precautionary measures in favor of the Argentine Gendarme kidnapped in Venezuela since December 8.

“As revealed by the statements of high authorities of Venezuela, No actions have been taken to guarantee a communication between Nahuel Gallo and the country of which it is national, in addition, the commission observes that there is no internal level, possibilities to ask for protection in favor of the beneficiary“, says the official document.

In his letter, the international body requires the regime of Nicolás Maduro that:

  • Adopt the necessary measures to protect the rights to life and personal integrity of the beneficiary. In particular:
  • Report if the beneficiary is in the custody of the State and the circumstances of their detention; or, of the measures taken in order to determine their whereabouts or destination;
  • I need if the beneficiary was presented to a competent court to review their arrest to have charged crimes;
  • expressly indicate the court that would know its criminal case, if this, or the reasons why it has not been released to date;
  • allow the communication of the beneficiary with his family and legal representatives of trust giving full access to their criminal record, of existing; and
  • It makes it possible to communicate with the country of which it is national; and
  • Report on the actions adopted in order to investigate the alleged facts that gave rise to the present precautionary measure and thus avoid their repetition.
