Aglyam Sadretdinov, former head of the Buinsky district and ex-Minister of Ecology of Tatarstan, was sentenced to eight years for inciting the contract killing of activist Rashid Sadykov in 2003. This was reported on February 1 by the Tatarstan 24 channel.
The prosecution asked for nine years in prison for the ex-official. Sadretdinov pleaded not guilty. Lawyers stated that the former minister was slandered by witnesses, some of whom are now serving sentences in places of deprivation of liberty.
Thus, the businessman Maksud Nazmiyev was the main witness in the case. In 2010, he received four years in prison for inciting the murder of Sadykov. Sadretdinov was later accused in the same case. According to investigators, he ordered the murder of the activist through Nazmiyev.
The court considered the arguments of the defense unconvincing and sentenced Sadretdinov to eight years in a strict regime colony.
Earlier on Tuesday, it became known that the court sentenced former policeman Sergei Bolkov, who opened fire on people from the balcony of an apartment in Yekaterinburg, to 18 years in prison.
On May 30, 2021, 48-year-old former police officer Bolkov opened fire from the balcony of his apartment in the Khimmash district of Yekaterinburg. During the shooting, Bolkov wounded a member of the National Guard, and a nine-year-old girl was also injured. Bolkov admitted his guilt and stated that he did not want to hit the child and was not going to shoot aiming.
