The number of regions of Russia with fare payment by Troika is planned to be increased to 28

The number of regions in Russia where the Troika card will be accepted for fare payment may grow to 28 in 2022. This was reported in the press service of the Department of Transport and Development of Road Transport Infrastructure in Moscow on Tuesday, February 1.

“In 2022, even more residents of Russia will be able to pay for public transport more conveniently – the number of regions where they will accept the Troika card may grow to 28 this year. Among them are: Rostov, Voronezh, Perm, Orel, the Republic of Ingushetia”, – the Moscow news agency quotes the message.

Currently, a single ticket system already exists in 14 regions and cities. Thanks to Troika, regions can digitalize transport, analyze the demand for routes, control payment methods and revenue, and create their own tariffs, writes RIAMO.

This year, the Troika card can be used in a third of all Russian regions. In the future, this will make it possible to have a single transport card throughout Russia, which is very convenient for residents, Moskva 24 writes.

“This is in line with the big plans for the development of multimodal travel within the framework of the country’s transport strategy until 2030 adopted by the President of the Russian Federation,” said Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of the capital for transport issues.

Earlier, on December 27, in all buses of the Mostransavto carrier in the Moscow Region, the possibility of paying for travel using the Troika card became available.

Unification of ticket systems between Moscow and the region is a large-scale project of the authorities of the Moscow region and the capital together with Sberbank. According to Igor Treskov, Vice-Governor of the Moscow Region, since the launch of Troika, more than 4.3 million trips have been made on buses in the Moscow region, which is about 24 thousand operations per day. In addition, the introduced loyalty program has already allowed passengers to save 1.1 million rubles on fares.

Monthly savings for passengers when paying for travel by card ranges from 7 to 35%, and it can amount to more than 4.8 thousand rubles a year. As part of the scaling of the unified ticketing system in the transport of the region, it is planned to distribute 5,000 Troikas to passengers at Mostransavto bus stations.
