A criminal case was opened after an icicle fell from the roof of a house in Balashikha near Moscow on a woman and two children. Olga Vradiy, senior assistant to the head of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia for the Moscow Region, announced this on Tuesday, February 1.
The case was initiated on the grounds of a crime under Art. 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Provision of services that do not meet security requirements”), reports RT.
“Currently, the investigator is examining the scenes of the incident, interrogating witnesses, and is planning to appoint a forensic medical examination in order to establish the degree of harm caused to the health of the victims. As part of the investigation of the criminal case, the investigation will have to establish what measures were taken by responsible officials to exclude such situations, ”a representative of the department told the Moscow city news agency.
Earlier that day, a woman and two small children were injured when ice fell from a roof in Balashikha.
According to the head of the Balashikha ambulance substation, Maruar Mukanova, the victims got to the hospital on their own, they did not call an ambulance, writes RIAMO.
The victims were left in the hospital, writes “Moscow 24”. As a result of ice falling, children of five and nine years old received craniocerebral injuries and bruises. Their 35-year-old mother was diagnosed with a shin bruise.
