The military of Russia and Belarus have begun the stage of combat coordination

The troops of the Eastern Military District and the Armed Forces of Belarus have begun combat coordination at the Belarusian training grounds as part of the first stage of testing the response forces of the Union State. This was announced on Wednesday, February 2, in the press service of the Russian Defense Ministry.

It is noted that in the course of combat coordination, defensive techniques are practiced, as well as methods of combating illegal armed groups.

“Units of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, together with units of the armed forces of the Republic of Belarus, are practicing various techniques and methods of combat operations in unified combat formations,” the defense ministry said.

So with motorized rifle units, crews of tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, artillery crews, crews of anti-tank guided missile systems, tactical fire training, as well as driving combat vehicles, are being conducted, the Defense Ministry specified.

Practical classes are held at the Belarusian training grounds “Domanovsky”, “Gozhsky”, “Obuz-Lesnovsky”, “Brestsky” and “Osipovichsky”.

A set of measures to coordinate the units will last until February 10.

The second stage of verification will take place from 10 to 20 February. The forces of Belarus and Russia will hold a joint exercise “Allied Resolve – 2022”, in which they will work out tactics for suppressing and repelling external aggression, as well as countering terrorism.

On January 27, the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces (AF) of Belarus, Major General Viktor Gulevich, spoke about the defensive nature of the Allied Resolve-2022 exercises. According to him, the exercises do not pose any threat either to the European community or to neighboring countries.

Gulevich also noted that during the second stage of the inspection of the Armed Forces of the Union State, defensive actions to cover the state border of Belarus will be worked out.

Earlier in the day, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that Russian Su-35S fighters had completed the redeployment of Russian Su-35S fighters in Belarus as part of the Allied Resolve 2022 exercises. After arriving in Belarus, the fighter crews will take up combat duty for air defense.

On January 18, units from the Russian Armed Forces began to arrive in Belarus as part of an inspection of the reaction forces of the Union State.
