SK opened a case after the death of a man on a sunken ship in Primorye

The Primorsky Investigation Department for Transport of the Eastern Interregional SUT of the Investigative Committee of Russia opened a criminal case after the death of a senior mechanic on the Akvanavt ship that sank in the port of Zarubino, Primorsky Krai. This was reported on February 2 on the website of the regional department.

The case was initiated under Part 2 of Art. 263 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Violation of the rules of traffic safety and operation of maritime transport, resulting in the death of a person through negligence”).

According to the press service of the UK, measures are currently being taken to raise the vessel to the surface. An investigation team went to the scene of the incident, it will establish all the circumstances of the incident.

The crab fishing vessel “Aquanaut” sank earlier on Wednesday near the berth of the “Zarubinsky Fleet Base” in Primorye. The fishing vessel followed from the mission and began to sink during unloading. It was completely submerged within a few minutes.

According to Izvestia, the director of the seaside branch of the Federal State Institution “Marine Rescue Service of Rosmorrechflot” Ivan Agarevsky, as a result of the incident, a senior mechanic died, his body was removed from the ship. The captain of the ship was hospitalized with hypothermia.
