The Government postponed the update of the Liquid Fuel Tax and the carbon dioxide, which had to be governed since February 1, through Decree 51/2025 published Friday in the Official Gazette. “The measure seeks to mitigate the impact on the prices of the supplier,” official sources warn.

The measure modifies Decree 466/2024 and states that the increases corresponding to the first quarter of 2024 will be partially applied, While the second and third quarter adjustments of the same year will be deferred in their entirety.


The decree signed by the President Javier Milei and the ministers Guillermo Francos and Luis Caputo It extends until February 28 the deferral of the originally planned increases between January 1 and 31 of this year.
Besides, The application of the remaining increases is reprogrammed for March 1.
