In the Sverdlovsk region, a woman was suspected of killing her nine-month-old son. This was announced on Wednesday, February 2, by the press service of the Investigative Committee of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the region.
According to the agency, the tragedy occurred earlier that day in the apartment of one of the villages of the Kamensky district. The grandmother of the murdered child turned to the police, Life.Ru notes.
Law enforcement officers found out that the boy’s mother lived with a man who was convicted three times for theft, who earned money by performing the duties of a cattleman at a local agricultural enterprise. They were not officially married.
It is clarified that after the incident, the woman injured herself and is currently in the hospital, Moskva 24 notes.
A criminal case has been opened under the article on the murder of a minor, Pravda.Ru clarifies. Investigators have inspected the scene and are interviewing witnesses. A complex of examinations has been scheduled.
As the Federal News Agency notes, citing a source in law enforcement agencies, presumably, the reason for the murder of the child could be the woman’s jealousy towards her roommate, who gave a ride to the neighbor’s house and went inside.
The suspect is scheduled to be charged and undergo a forensic psychiatric examination. The investigation also intends to apply to the court with a request to take the woman into custody.
