Passengers stuck on the cable car in Sochi were evacuated

All passengers stuck on the cable car at the Krasnaya Polyana ski resort in Sochi on February 2 have been evacuated. This was reported in the press service of the resort.

“All passengers have been evacuated, now they are offered tea and coffee,” the message said.

However, according to eyewitnesses, the evacuation is not over yet. As one of the passengers told RIA Novosti, it takes an average of 10 minutes to remove a person.

“It has already been written everywhere that everyone was removed, and we are still hanging here. It takes about 10 minutes to evacuate one person. About 35 people were filmed around us. There are eight people left. We don’t see further, ”said the interlocutor of the agency.

The incident happened earlier on Wednesday. Nearly 40 people could have been on the cable car, according to emergency services. Later, eyewitnesses reported that the rescuers began to remove people by rope from the stopped cable car.

The press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for the Krasnodar Territory said that the stop of the cable car was due to a power surge.
