In the Amur region, investigators opened a criminal case against a nurse after an 84-year-old patient fell from the fourth floor of a hospital. This was announced on Thursday, February 3, by Anton Sych, head of the control and investigation department of the Investigative Department of the RF Investigative Committee for the Amur Region.
The incident occurred in November last year, all this time an investigation was conducted into what happened.
As a result, the investigators found that the medical brother of the department in which the elderly patient was located did not fulfill his official duties: he was supposed to monitor the patient around the clock. Due to the fact that the employee of the institution was absent for a certain time, a tragedy occurred, said the head of the department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the region.
The health worker was charged under Art. 125 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Leaving in danger”).
“He admitted his guilt in the crime, the criminal case is at the final stage of the investigation,” Sych said.
On November 30, the prosecutor’s office of Blagoveshchensk recognized the lawful initiation of a criminal case into the death of an 84-year-old hospital patient. Then it was reported that health workers are suspected of causing death by negligence.
