In the Murmansk region, four members of the crew of the ship were rescued, which received a hole and ran aground. This was reported in the regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia on Thursday, February 3.

“At 14:28, four people were taken on board the Mi-8 helicopter of the North-Western Aviation Rescue Center,” the agency said in a statement.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations added that the helicopter continues to search for the fifth crew member, RT reports.

Earlier that day, it became known that a fishing vessel had received a hole in the Barents Sea in the Murmansk region. The incident happened about 200 meters from the shore. Four crew members were on the rocks. The fate of one crew member is unknown.

The height of the waves in the emergency area reaches 3 m.

The circumstances of the incident are being investigated.

Earlier, on January 24, Magadan fishermen were warned about the start of work of the icebreaker in Nagaev Bay. At this time, it is extremely dangerous to leave or go out on the ice.
