The process of registration of the Russian vaccine against coronavirus for adolescents from 12 to 17 years old “Sputnik M” in Argentina continues. This was announced on Thursday, February 3, by Russian President Vladimir Putin during a meeting with Argentine leader Alberto Angel Fernandez.
“Now the issue of registering Sputnik M for the vaccination of adolescents from 12 to 17 years old is being decided,” Putin said.
The Russian President thanked Fernandez, noting that Argentina was the first country in the Western Hemisphere to register the Sputnik V vaccine.
“Argentina appreciates Russia very much, in particular, your help when you sent us vaccines, it was very important for us in the fight against the pandemic. Indeed, you supported us very much at this moment, ”said, in turn, the President of Argentina.
The Gamaleya Center received permission from the Russian Ministry of Health to conduct clinical trials of the Sputnik M vaccine on January 24.
The preparation contains 1/5 dose of Sputnik V vaccine for adults. Immunization is carried out in two components with a break of 21 days.
On January 24, Sputnik M became available in a number of regions of the country, including the Republic of Chuvashia, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Irkutsk, Leningrad and Sverdlovsk regions.
