The husband of the murdered Alexander Popov himself led the forensic experts to the place where he buried the body of his wife. At the same time, Sapozhkova’s relatives still do not believe that he could take such a step.
Earlier that day, in the forest belt on the territory of New Moscow, the police found the body of Sapozhkova, in whose murder her husband is suspected. According to Izvestia, the woman’s body was not dismembered.
The 36-year-old man reported the disappearance of his wife on January 11. He said that the woman flew to Dubai and no longer got in touch. At the same time, according to the investigation, the woman has not crossed the border since the day of the disappearance. Posts on Instagram on her behalf were published by her husband, in addition, he also answered messages from friends and relatives from her page.
On January 31, the man confessed that he had killed his wife. Then he said that he dismembered the body, tied it with stones and threw it into the Desna River. The divers who worked on the spot did not find the body of the murdered woman. Subsequently, the suspect began to deny guilt and refused to testify against himself. On the same day, Popov was arrested.
As an acquaintance of Sapozhkova told Izvestia, from the outside it seemed that love and harmony reigned in this family. She stressed that it was difficult for her to believe that Popov was involved in the death of his wife.
