The Minister of Tourism and Health Resorts of the Stavropol Territory was detained on suspicion of abuse of office. This was announced on Saturday, February 5, in the press service of the regional prosecutor’s office.
According to data on the website of the Federal Agency for Tourism of the Russian Federation, the head of the Ministry of Tourism of Stavropol is Kirill Reut.
It is noted that a criminal case has been initiated against the official on the grounds of a crime under paragraph “c” of Part 3 of Art. 286 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Exceeding official powers”).
“The Minister of Tourism and Health Resorts of the Stavropol Territory, suspected of exceeding his official powers, was detained by the preliminary investigation authorities to further resolve the issue of choosing a measure of restraint for him,” the report says.
According to the prosecutor’s office, in 2021 the regional Ministry of Tourism signed a state contract to host a fireworks festival. It turned out that its subject was the services actually provided in 2020. It is also noted that commercial offers were falsified, and the total cost was overestimated by 10 times. As a result, the budget of the Stavropol Territory suffered damage in the amount of more than 25.1 million rubles.
Earlier, on January 22, the Russian government dismissed Vladimir Tokarev, Deputy Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation, who was arrested on charges of fraud.
Tokarev was detained on January 19 in connection with the events of five years ago.
