Rescuers of the TsUKS of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations began to eliminate the consequences of an accident in Balashikha, where a dump truck demolished an overpass. This was announced on Saturday, February 5, by the press service of the department.
“02/05/2022 at 04:30 a.m., the operational duty shift of the TsUKS received a message about a traffic accident in the urban district of Balashikha, on the 30th km of the Gorky Highway,” the report says.
The press service clarified that while the truck was moving, the dump body spontaneously rose. This led to a collision with an elevated pedestrian crossing, followed by its overturning onto the roadway.
According to Izvestia, traffic in both directions was blocked 3 km before the collapsed bridge. There are no traffic jams, but the detour path significantly increases travel time. Only emergency services can access the bridge.
It is also specified that there is a victim. There is no information about his condition.
Now the issue of attracting engineering equipment to free the roadway from the debris of the bridge is being resolved.
Earlier that day, it was reported that a truck rammed an overhead pedestrian crossing in the Moscow region with its body, after which the building collapsed onto the cab of a dump truck.
According to eyewitnesses, the body of the truck was raised, which other road users tried unsuccessfully to signal to the driver of the dump truck.
Earlier, on January 20, a truck with a raised body at speed flew into a pedestrian bridge in Balashikha near Moscow, no one was injured. According to Izvestia, part of the elevated pedestrian crossing was torn off the support from the impact. Now the bridge is closed for passage due to repair work.
