Residents of Khimki showed a block of ice hanging over the sidewalk

Residents of Khimki filmed a block of ice hanging directly above the sidewalk from the roof of a multi-storey residential building.

As they told the Izvestia correspondent, no one is engaged in snow removal on the roof, so an accident can happen at any moment.

Earlier that day, Izvestia published a video of ice falling from a high-rise building onto a man with a one-year-old child in Khimki, Moscow Region. In the footage that was at the disposal of Izvestia, it is clear that the man noticed how a pile of snow was flying on top of him and the stroller with a child, and managed to jump aside.

The incident happened on February 4th. Ice from the roof of a 25-storey building fell on a one-year-old child in a stroller and a man, as a result of which the boy was taken to the Lyubertsy hospital and examined. Initially, it was reported that the child was injured, but this information was denied by the press service of the government of the Moscow region.

The prosecutor’s office of the Moscow region organized a check after the ice fell on the child. It was noted that according to the results of the check, if there were grounds, the prosecutor’s office would react in the necessary way. The investigative department for the city of Khimki of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Moscow Region also organized a pre-investigation check.
