David Lynch to star in Steven Spielberg film

Director David Lynch will play in the new film by Steven Spielberg “Fabelmana”. This was reported on February 4 by Variety.

It is noted that this is the first collaboration between two cult directors. Lynch’s role has yet to be announced.

Michelle Williams, Seth Rogen, Paul Dano, Julia Butters, Gabriel LaBelle and other actors will also play in Fabelmans.

The plot of the film is kept secret, but it is known that the picture will be based in part on the biography of Spielberg.

The director is co-writing the script with Tony Kushner. They have already collaborated on projects such as West Side Story, Munich and Lincoln.

Last June, Steven Spielberg’s production house signed a contract to produce films for the streaming service Netflix. The terms of the deal suggest that Amblin Partners, of which Spielberg is co-founder and chairman, will release at least two feature-length films a year for the platform.

David Lynch is one of the brightest representatives of American independent cinema. Winner of the Palme d’Or (1990) and Best Director Award (2001) at the Cannes Film Festival. In 2006 he was awarded the main award of the Venice Film Festival – “Golden Lion”. He is an officer of the Order of the Legion of Honor (2007).

Among his most famous paintings are The Elephant Man (1980), Mulholland Drive (2001) and Blue Velvet (1986). Lynch’s popularity also brought the television series Twin Peaks (1990-1991).
