The General Director of the Federal Energy Service Company (FSUE FESKO) Nikolai Myagkikh, accused of fraud for 25 million rubles, was arrested. This was announced on February 5 by the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, Irina Volk.
“The Golovinsky District Court of Moscow chose a preventive measure in the form of detention against the acting general director of the state unitary enterprise, the person involved in the criminal case of fraud on an especially large scale,” Volk said.
On February 3, Myagkikh was detained at Moscow’s Domodedovo airport.
According to the investigation, from 2018 to 2021, the defendant submitted false statements to the organization for assessing the cost of vehicles about the need for repair work on more than 185 vehicles, reducing the value of the property by 90% of the market value. Thus, he could not carry out the necessary coordination of transactions with the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation.
The preliminary amount of damage from illegal actions exceeds 25 million rubles. On this fact, a criminal case was initiated on fraud on an especially large scale (part 4 of article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
Earlier that day, it was reported that the rector of the Dagestan State Technical University was detained on charges of fraud and forgery.
According to investigators, in 2015-2018, the defendant and other university officials transferred funds from the university scholarship account to the settlement accounts of trusted persons, and then cashed them out. In addition, they forged signatures in payrolls on the receipt of wages and bonuses by university employees and received cash from their personal account without posting it to the cash desk of the educational institution.
