Russian director and screenwriter Viktor Buturlin passed away almost instantly. On Saturday, February 5, director Yuri Feting said in a commentary on the Kino-teatr.ru website.
He explained that on the eve of Buturlin took credit from young directors at the Higher School of Directors and Screenwriters at Lenfilm. The test was delayed until 23:40, so it was decided to stop the test and listen to the last student on another day.
“Students escorted the master to the car. And suddenly, right in front of Lenfilm, Viktor Ivanovich fell. All the students and teachers of the Higher School of Art and Science tried to bring him to his senses. After 20 minutes, an ambulance arrived … In the morning they reported the death of the master. Today is a day of mourning and memory of a wonderful man and wonderful director Viktor Ivanovich Buturlin,” said Feting.
The fact that Buturlin died at the age of 76 became known earlier that day. As noted at Lenfilm, students and teachers of the Higher School of Directors and Screenwriters, where he taught, remembered him as an energetic and witty friend and a talented artist.
The farewell time will be announced later.
