Law enforcement officers have established signs of a former State Duma deputy from the Liberal Democratic Party Maxim Shingarkin suspected of beating. This was reported to Izvestia on February 6 by a source familiar with the situation.
According to him, a man of strong athletic build is wanted.
The attacker came to a meeting with a former parliamentarian on Samotechnaya Street, probably not alone. After beating Shingarkin, he fled in a black Toyota Camry. According to preliminary information, an accomplice of the suspect was behind the wheel.
The ex-deputy was attacked on the morning of February 5 near his office on Samotechnaya Street. As he told law enforcement officers, for some time he was pursued by unknown people, after which the man made an appointment with them. When the ex-deputy came out to talk to them, unknown persons beat him.
Shingarkin was diagnosed with a displaced fracture of the zygomatic bone. According to Izvestia, the ex-deputy will undergo an operation.
According to the victim himself, the beating was connected with his professional activities. Shingarkin noted that for a year and a half he had received threats of various kinds.
The police are investigating the circumstances of the incident. On the fact of beating a criminal case under Art. 112 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Infliction of moderate harm to health”).
This is not the first time Shingarkin has been in a scandalous situation. So, in 2016, he arranged a conflict with the security guards of the European shopping center in Moscow. Shingarkin refused to go through the metal detector frame.
Prior to that, in 2012, he attacked the security guards at Sheremetyevo Airport with his fists. Shingarkin refused to go through pre-flight screening at the entrance to the air harbor.
Shingarkin was a member of the State Duma of the sixth convocation, whose powers lasted from 2011-2016.
