Employees of the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Primorsky Territory detained suspects in the storage and sale of counterfeit five thousandth banknotes. On Monday, February 7, the regional department reports.
It is noted that two residents of Vladivostok, aged 32 and 48, paid with counterfeit banknotes in shops and markets. One of the defendants was taken into custody. His accomplice is under house arrest. The suspects face a sentence of up to eight years in prison.
The police established the involvement of the defendants in the sale of 11 counterfeit banknotes. Investigators opened a criminal case under Art. 186 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Production, storage, transportation or sale of counterfeit money or securities”).
Also, during the searches, another 48 banknotes and syringes with hash oil with a total weight of over 47 g were seized.
The Investigative Committee of Russia also opened a criminal case under Part 2 of Art. 228 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Illegal acquisition and possession of drugs”).
In addition, a combat pistol with cartridges was found in the garage of one of the suspects, as well as a traumatic pistol. Now the issue of initiating a criminal case under Art. 222 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Illegal acquisition and possession of weapons”).
Earlier, on January 25, police detained men in the Samara region who had set up a store selling counterfeit five-thousand banknotes on the dark web and had managed to sell 9 million counterfeit rubles.
The suspects have been arrested. A criminal case has been initiated under Part 1 of Art. 186 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Manufacture of counterfeit money for the purpose of sale”).
