The demand for vaccine tours abroad in 2022 increased 12 times — at least 20,000 citizens of the Russian Federation travel for a foreign drug per month. In 2021, the same number of Russians with the same goals left for the entire year, Izvestia was told in the Russian Union of Tourism Industry (PCT).
“Our statistics show that last year 7.7 million people left the Russian Federation for the purpose of tourism. Of these, for the purpose of vaccine tourism – no more than 20 thousand. Now at least 10 thousand people leave Russia for vaccine tours every month. So many people drive on their own. These are people who need a European certificate for the purpose of personal travel, work, study, but also for tourism,” explained the Vice President of the PCT.
He also clarified that among the popular destinations for vaccine tourism in Europe among citizens of the Russian Federation: without visas – Serbia; with visas – Croatia, Bulgaria, Greece, Germany; in the near abroad – Armenia. Since January 9, the possibility of paid Pfizer vaccination for foreigners has appeared in Turkey – one dose of the vaccine will cost 400 lira (2200 rubles).
