Professor of cardiology Landmesser named three signs of a heart attack

Three key signs of a heart attack and a remedy that can alleviate it were named by cardiology professor Ulf Landmesser from the cardiology clinic at the Charite University Medical Complex in Berlin.

“Great pressure in the chest, as if an elephant sat on you; chest pain that radiates to the neck and left arm; sometimes, severe abdominal pain and even shortness of breath with panic. If you notice these symptoms in yourself, call an ambulance immediately, ”the doctor urged in an interview with the Focus Online portal.

Dr. Landmesser added that taking aspirin could save lives while waiting for doctors, as the drug thins the blood and can dissolve heart attack-causing clots in the heart vessels. At the same time, this statement does not negate the need for consultation with a specialist.

Dr. Landmesser’s Russian colleague, a physician of the highest category, Alexei Bezymyanny, stressed that any sharp pain in the chest should be a cause for concern.

The specialist noted that myocardial infarction has become more common in people aged 25-30 years. According to him, atherosclerotic plaques in the vessels contribute to the development of this disease. The reason for their formation is malnutrition, smoking and taking various psychoactive substances.
