Putin treated Macron to venison and fish soup from five types of fish

Russian President Vladimir Putin treated his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron to traditional Russian and European cuisine, as well as Russian wines, which became known on Monday, February 7.

Part of the talks between the two leaders in the Kremlin, which lasted more than five hours, took place over a working lunch. The menu included seven dishes and two types of Russian wines of 2015 – Chardonnay and Rebo produced by Usadba Divnomorskoye.

Among the dishes that the Russian leader treated Macron to were soaked apples with langoustine, spinach ravioli, fish soup from five types of fish, and ginger sherbet. For the main course – sturgeon steak with ptitim and venison with sweet potato and blackberries. For dessert, the presidents of the Russian Federation and France were served a pear tart with vanilla ice cream, Putin’s press service told TASS.

The talks between Vladimir Putin and Emmanuel Macron took place on Monday, February 7, in the Kremlin. The conversation between the two leaders lasted more than five hours. Putin and Macron began their conversation in the representative office of the first building of the Kremlin, and continued over a working lunch. The meeting ended around midnight, the presidents of Russia and France held a final press conference.

Meeting his French counterpart, President Putin noted that he had not seen Macron in person for two years, so there were many issues that could and should be discussed in a direct format. The French leader noted that a dialogue with Russia is necessary as the only way to ensure real stability and security for the European continent.

After meeting with the Russian President, the French leader intends to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kiev on February 8.
