It is possible to do a foreign vaccination after receiving “Sputnik V” or “Sputnik Light” only after 3-4 months – too frequent revaccination can lead, in particular, to an increased risk of myocarditis in men. Vitaly Zverev, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, head of the department of the First State Medical University named after Sechenov, announced this to Izvestia.
“It must be borne in mind that there may be negative consequences if the interval recommended by scientists is not maintained. For our vaccines, including Sputnik, this is six months. In general, it is safe to revaccinate after 3-4 months, but not earlier. Western authors warn against very frequent vaccination with Western drugs, since there is a risk of getting myocarditis – this, for example, is indicated by Israeli statistics, ”the expert noted.
The Israeli Ministry of Health confirmed to Izvestiya that there is a risk of myocarditis after the third dose of the vaccine, but the disease is rare – one case in 15 thousand. Nevertheless, the country also recommends doing a booster no earlier than four months later. A similar recommendation was made by the WHO.
