Low-cost airline Pobeda will launch 17 new destinations from Moscow’s Sheremetyevo Airport in 2022, doubling its flight program. This follows from the data of the air carrier’s booking system, which was analyzed by Izvestia. The information was confirmed by a representative of the low-cost airline.
“In 2021, we transported more than 1.2 million customers through Sheremetyevo Airport. In the summer schedule of 2022, about 35 destinations are planned, of which 17 are new. Among the new products: Astrakhan, Anapa, Arkhangelsk, Volgograd, Gelendzhik, Nizhnekamsk, Novosibirsk and other cities,” a company representative said.
Flights to Kaliningrad, Kirov, Krasnoyarsk, Murmansk, Nazran, Stavropol, Surgut, Tyumen, Chelyabinsk and Turkish Alanya are also planned to be launched.
From April 1, Pobeda plans to fly to Nazran (Magas Airport), from April 30 to Antalya, from May 23 to Astrakhan, Volgograd, Tyumen and Chelyabinsk, from June 1 to Gelendzhik, Kaliningrad, from June 6 to Anapa , from July 1 – to Novosibirsk, from August 1 – to Krasnoyarsk, follows from the data of the booking system. Launch dates for other flights are not yet known. In 2021, Pobeda operated flights from Sheremetyevo to 16 destinations.
The capital’s air harbor noted that they are already ready to expand the flight program of the low-cost airline. The airport’s resources will make it possible to provide efficient ground handling of Pobeda’s turnaround flights in 25 minutes, which is a key requirement on the part of the carrier, the airport representative specified.
Flights from Sheremetyevo were launched by Pobeda for the first time last year. Previously, the base airport for the company has always been Vnukovo. The transition to Sheremetyevo is connected with the new strategy of the group, approved in the summer of 2020. According to it, Aeroflot will gradually transfer medium-haul routes in Russia to its subsidiaries Pobeda and Rossiya until 2028, while the company itself will specialize in premium (with demand for transportation in business class) and long-haul foreign directions.
