The first minister of architecture, construction and housing and communal services of the Russian Federation Boris Alexandrovich Furmanov died at the age of 86. This was reported on February 8 by the press service of the Ministry of Construction of Russia.

It is noted that Furmanov died the day before. Causes of death are not specified.

“Honored Builder of the Russian Federation, Honorary Builder of Russia, Laureate of the Prize of the Council of Ministers of the USSR, Honorary Member of the Russian Academy of Architecture and Building Sciences, Honorary Member of the Russian Scientific and Technical Society of Builders, Full Member of the Academy of Transport Construction of Russia. We offer our sincere condolences to the family and loved ones in connection with the irreparable loss, ”the message says.

Boris Furmanov was born on December 17, 1936 in the city of Severodonetsk, Luhansk region.

Until 1982, he worked in construction organizations in the cities of Pervouralsk, Nizhny Tagil, and Sverdlovsk.

From 1921 to 2011, for 20 years, Boris Alexandrovich served as president of the Russian Scientific and Technical Society of Builders.

In 1990–1992, he was a member of the Government of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the State Committee for Architecture and Construction of the RSFSR, Minister of Architecture, Construction, Housing and Communal Services of Russia.

His labor merits were awarded with the Orders of the Red Banner of Labor (1978) and Friendship of Peoples (1986), three medals, including the medal “For the development of virgin and fallow lands” (1957).
