The department said that in January 2022, 5.7 thousand crimes were registered.
According to the head of the Main Directorate of Regional Security of the Moscow Region, Roman Karataev, crimes in public places have decreased by 18%, and robberies – by 9.8%. In addition, illicit drug trafficking decreased by 8.8%. The number of crimes committed by minors decreased by 4.6%.
“In January, 112 crimes were solved in the Moscow region with the help of video cameras of the “Safe Region” system,” Karataev said.
During the month, 1947 new cameras were installed in the region. In total, there are now 84.3 thousand of them in the region, the 360 TV channel notes.
Last summer, the head of the traffic police department of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Moscow Region, Viktor Kuznetsov, said that domestically produced cars are most often stolen in the Moscow region.
