The first and so far the only participant in the robbery was detained on January 25. He is a 27-year-old citizen of Tajikistan, Umedjon Zhabborov, the owner of a white Mercedes, in which the robbers moved in Aprelevka after they were brought there by Kotashenko.
According to Zhabborov’s ex-wife, she knows from the man’s mother and his lawyer that due to material problems he has debts. Before the new year, he told how he bought an old Mercedes on credit to be a taxi driver. The debt was transferred to some ethnic gang in order to get money out as soon as possible, and thus Zhabborov became an accomplice in the robbery.
“As far as I understand, he knew these people, saw them several times, understood who they were. He was told: you will work as a taxi driver once, and we will close your debt – 150 thousand rubles. Like, pick up people at such and such a time in such and such a place. But he did not know that he would become an accomplice in the robbery, ”the ex-wife of the suspect assured.
According to her, he described the robbers as strangers without masks who got out of the car of the widow Grasky with one small sports bag. The man doubts that it could contain 100 million rubles. The former investigator for particularly important cases, lawyer Dmitry Mordvintsev, also considers the doubts justified.
“Of course, one of the most popular versions: was there a robbery? Here you tell how much 100 million weigh in different currencies. But in addition to weight, there is also volume. Imagine 200 packs of 100 five thousandth bills each. How to drag them? If there was only one bag, it’s unrealistic,” he shared.
Lawyer Sergei Zhorin spoke about inconsistencies in the story of the robbery at the end of January. He analyzed reports of Kotashenko’s robbery and noticed several suspicious moments. In particular, he was embarrassed by the fact that the attack on the woman was committed around 1 pm on Sunday, and she turned to the police at about 8 pm.
At the end of January, Marina Kotashenko, who was arrested in the case of an attack on the widow of singer Alexander Gradsky, Marina Kotashenko, pleaded guilty to the deed in full. Zhabborov declared his readiness to cooperate with the investigation.
The attack on the widow of Gradsky for the purpose of robbery became known on January 16. The attackers simulated an accident on the Central Ring Road (CKAD) near the village of Zhedochi on the M-3 “Ukraine” highway. When Kotashenko got out of the car, three men got into her car and forced her to return home. There, the attackers took 100 million rubles from the woman.
After that, they left together with Gradsky’s widow. At the same time, the attackers demanded that they be taken to Aprelevka, and then they transferred to a white Mercedes and headed towards Moscow. On the fact of the robbery, a criminal case was initiated under Art. 162 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Robbery”.
