In Dagestan, a criminal case was opened after the death of a two-month-old child from an injection in a children’s hospital in the city of Buynaksk. This was reported on February 10 by the press service of the Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee (SU SK) of Russia for Dagestan.

“The Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Republic of Dagestan initiated a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 2 of Art. 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Causing death by negligence due to improper performance by a person of his professional duties”),” the agency said in a statement.

The investigation found that on January 20, 2022, the baby, who was being hospitalized at the Buynaksk children’s hospital, was given an injection to reduce the temperature. After some time, the child’s condition deteriorated sharply, and subsequently he stopped regaining consciousness.

The circumstances of the incident are established. A forensic medical examination has been ordered to determine the exact cause of the child’s death.

In December 2021, a six-year-old boy was reported to have died after anesthesia at a dental clinic in St. Petersburg. The incident happened in a private clinic on Shavrov Street. The circumstances of the incident then began to find out the Investigative Committee.
