Firefighters extinguished the fire, which arose as a result of the crash of the An-2 aircraft in Kamchatka. This became known on Friday, February 11.
“Firefighters extinguished the fire at the crash site of the An-2 light aircraft near the village of Koryaki, Elizovsky municipal district. The area of the fire was 100 square meters. m,” the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation for the Kamchatka Territory told.
At the crash site, rescuers found the bodies of two dead crew members.
The message about the fall of a light aircraft was received by the regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation on Friday, February 11, at about 12:30 local time (03:30 Moscow time). 43 people and nine pieces of equipment were sent to the scene.
Later it became known that there were two people on board the aircraft. They died. The Governor of the Kamchatka Territory, Vladimir Solodov, specified that the plane crashed during takeoff from an unequipped runway near the village of Severnye Koryaki (Yelizovsky District). It was private and carried out a technical flight to the village of Tymlat in the Karaginsky municipal district.
Upon the fact of the crash, a criminal case was opened on the grounds of a crime under Part 3 of Art. 263 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation – “Violation of the rules of traffic safety and operation of railway, air, sea and inland water transport and the subway, which negligently entailed the death of two or more persons.”
