The crew of the An-2 died in a plane crash in Kamchatka

Two members of the crew of the An-2 aircraft, which crashed in Kamchatka, were killed, as Izvestia became aware on Friday, February 11.

According to updated information, a private light aircraft was transporting cargo to the village of Tymlat in the Karaginsky municipal district. There were two crew members on board, one of them died, the location of the second is being specified. Firefighters arrived at the scene to put out the fire.

Information about the plane crash was confirmed by the governor of the Kamchatka Territory Vladimir Solodov.

“During takeoff from an unequipped runway near the village of Severnye Koryaki (Yelizovsky district), a private An-2 aircraft, which was performing a technical flight, crashed. According to preliminary information, two crew members died in the crash. I express my deep condolences to the families and friends of the victims,” he wrote on Instagram.

The message to the regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation about the fall of a light aircraft was received on Friday, February 11. 43 people and nine pieces of equipment were sent to the scene. Later it became known that there were two people on board the aircraft.
