The Constitution, guarantee of freedom

The Constitution, guarantee of freedom

The exit to our problems is to respect the Constitution, interpreting it as the starting point for the reconstruction of a true republic, an irreplaceable step to be a strong, predictable and developed country

Today 172 years of the sanction of the Constitution of the Argentine Nationa foundational text that defines, in words, the specific and intangible social contract by which it is limited to power, it is ordered and where the people deposit their hopes and ideas of well -being.

The Constitution is not only the legal framework that establishes the rules under which social coexistence and political power develops, but also requires the attributions, exercise and control of power, so that the freedoms and rights of man are thus recognized. It is also the symbol of the National Union, a tool forged in the heat of years of fratricidal struggles and bloody differences, an example of how our heroes knew how to jump the “crack”, interpret the feeling of the majorities of the people, which beyond all rivalry, needed to grow in peace, coexistence, order, tolerance and progress.

On May 1, 1853, in the closing speech of the Constituent Debate, you could hear:With the constitutional letter that we have just signed, we have filled our mission and corresponded to your trust, as it has been possible. Promulgate it and order compliance is no longer our work. (…) To the peoples it is appropriate to observe and comply with it undergoing betraying the same work; to deny the trust placed in their representatives and contradish themselves, presenting themselves in the surrounding nations

The exit to our problems is to respect the Constitution, interpreting it as the starting point for the reconstruction of a true republic, an irreplaceable step to be a strong, predictable and developed country. Therefore, in these times of crisp, words and violent gestures, where the crack is increasingly deepened, the truly revolutionary is to strengthen and strengthen our rule of law, honor and comply with our Constitution, which is the fundamental instrument for the construction of a better citizenship.

Juan Bautista Albertiin your book “Bases and starting points for the political organization of the Argentine Republic”he said: “Man does not discretion at his thick or thin, nervous or blood constitution; neither does the people take for their will a monarchical or republican, federal or unitary constitution. He receives these provisions at birth: he receives them from the ground that touches him by dwelling, the number and the condition of the residents with which he begins, of the previous institutions and the facts that constitute their history: in all of which its will does not have more action than the direction given to the development of those things in the most advantageous sense to their providential destiny

We must understand that the Constitution emanates from the will of the people; His fundamental text is respect for freedom. There is no republic or democracy without freedom. Therefore, our best tribute is to strengthen its validity, defend their institutions, which are the best antidote for those who try to limit our freedom.
