An exhibition-essay by Yuri Kuper “Experiences” began its work in the center of Moscow. The guests are presented with seven halls, embodying the seven chapters of the master’s artistic research, according to a release received on February 12 by Izvestia.
Everyone can see, including ceramics, graphics, painting.
“In the work of Yuri Kuper, one can single out a number of repetitive and recognizable images found by the artist, mastered, and then rethought. The artist shows attention to the subject, explores it, and in each new work fixes the result of this research,” the organizers of the exhibition emphasized.
Cooper works a lot with the possibilities of different techniques. Free handling of materials is its recognizable feature. He uses canvas and metal, paint and salt, paint brushes and dried plants.
The exhibition also features Cooper’s sketches for several theatrical productions.
On the eve it was reported that a large-format painting “Peter I” by Anatoly Perevyshko would be brought to the Museum of the Academy of Arts in St. Petersburg for an exhibition dedicated to the 350th anniversary of the birth of the historical figure.
According to Sergey Uvarov, Candidate of Art Criticism, columnist for Izvestia, the dimensions of the painting are 240 × 330 cm, but in the history of Russian painting this is far from a record-breaking painting.
