Private detective uncovers Tinder scam

Released before Valentine’s Day on Netflix, the Tinder Scam documentary tells the story of a scammer who pretends to be the son of a billionaire and meets girls on a popular app. Relationships always ended in separation and loans issued to the victims. Tinder scammers used different methods of deception. Moscow private detective Maxim Zabolotny on Saturday, February 12, spoke about the most common scheme.

According to him, scammers can even have long-term relationships with girls, up to five years. The basic scheme of “divorce” is the illusion of a prosperous life.

“A beautiful picture … against the backdrop of a yacht, expensive hotels and expensive cars with good watches in gold. The girls meet him. There is some kind of communication. He says that today I am in Monaco, Cannes, sends her photos from jets … private, that is, makes some expensive gifts in the form of flowers, some flights, hotels, ”says Zabolotny.

The scammers are trying to show their alleged solvency, even by booking a room in an expensive hotel on the dark web at a big discount in order to invite a girl there.

“They show their ability to pay, cloud the vigilance of girls, invite them there. As usual, they don’t come there themselves… and continue to communicate on social networks,” the detective notes.

However, then everything changes dramatically. The swindler says that his card was blocked or all accounts were arrested, so he urgently needs a small amount. Girls, as Zabolotny notes, do not suspect that a person with private jets and expensive watches will not return the amount of money lent to him.

The story of the adventures of a swindler from Tinder received a wide response. What is the phenomenon of such popularity and why the fraudster has not yet been caught – see the Dobrov on Air program on February 13 at 23:00.

Earlier, on June 29, a Muscovite announced that he had become a victim of a scam on the Tinder dating site and contacted the police. According to the interlocutor, he met a girl on Tinder and invited her to go to the Stand Up show together. The young man decided to pay for the tickets himself, and then the girl sent him a link to the site. When the guy entered his bank card details there, more than 12.5 thousand rubles were immediately debited from it.
