Honored Artist of the RSFSR and dubbing actress Margarita Korabelnikova, who voiced Umka, died at the age of 91. This was announced on February 13 by the editor-in-chief of Soyuzmultfilm Sergey Kapkov on his Facebook page.
“Yesterday I learned that back in December, Margarita Pavlovna Korabelnikova, the voice of our childhood, the same Umka, died,” wrote Kapkov.
He added that Korabelnikova also voiced Pierrot, Antoshka with potatoes, Gunka from Dunno, Vovka from The Prodigal Parrot and many other heroes of radio shows and fairy tales from vinyl records, “the voices of boys and girls from old feature films.”
Margarita Korabelnikova was born on June 19, 1931 in Chisinau.
In 1953 she graduated from the Boris Shchukin Theater School.
Korabelnikova worked at the Moscow Theater named after M. N. Ermolova, then at the Moscow Drama Theater. And since 1956 she became an actress of the M. Gorky Film Studio.
The last time Margarita Korabelnikova appeared on the screen was in 2008 in the documentary series Miracle Factory.
