The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Yakutia called the possible causes of the fire with six dead

The fire in the Suntarsky district of Yakutia, which killed six people, including four children, was due to a short circuit or improper use of the furnace. This was announced on Sunday, February 13, in the main department of the Russian Emergencies Ministry for the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).

“The alleged reason is non-compliance with fire safety rules during the operation of the heating stove or a short circuit in the electrical wiring,” the department said.

According to the data of rescuers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, at the time of the arrival of firefighters, an open burning of the building was observed, the fire damaged a two-story residential building over the entire area. The fire area was 70 sq.m.

Earlier on the same day, a criminal case was initiated on the grounds of a crime under Part 2 of Art. 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Causing death by negligence to two or more persons”) after the death of six people in a fire. As part of the criminal case, the circumstances of the incident will be established.
