The tasks that Saint Petersburg is working out are just an episode of large-scale exercises of the Russian Navy, which are carried out simultaneously in the waters of the Mediterranean, Black, North and Okhotsk seas, in the northeastern part of the Atlantic and in the Pacific Ocean. They will involve over 140 warships and support vessels, more than 60 aircraft, 1,000 pieces of equipment, and about 10,000 servicemen.
In parallel with the exercises of the Russian Navy, the Allied Resolve-2022 maneuvers continue in Belarus. The Belarusian Ministry of Defense reported that on February 13, the drawing of combat episodes of the exercises took place at 10 different sites. In particular, near the city of Rechitsa, the Russian motorized rifle brigade worked out the march and concentration for the offensive. Belorussian – fought a defensive battle at the Gozhsky training ground. The troops also trained the landing of tactical troops and the performance of tasks by special forces. Rocket and artillery units of the Belarusian army were deployed at the Zalessky training ground for combat duty.
“Russia keeps all its forces on alert, conducts military exercises. But this does not mean that she is going to start a war. Aggression is not our history. We just want to be ready to fight back if something happens, ”Inna Vetrenko, head of the department of management and social technologies at the North-Western Institute of the RANEPA, explained to Izvestia.
