Tinder scammer robbed hundreds of women

Simon Leviev, the hero of the documentary from Netflix, introduced himself to the girls as the son of the Israeli diamond king, took them on dates to European capitals, gave them expensive gifts, and then unexpectedly asked for help – to transfer money that he promised to return. Then the scammer disappeared.

“Simon’s scheme is like a pyramid scheme. He used one woman’s money to splurge another. Then he allegedly got into trouble, he could not leave digital traces. And he turned to the closest person – to his girlfriend, ”says Norwegian journalist Alain Anshen.

Leviev deceived his victims for tens and hundreds of thousands of euros. Among his victims were both ordinary women and hunters for billionaires.

The real name of the swindler is Shimon Hayut. The man was in a Finnish prison, was wanted in Israel. Once he tried to deceive a man – a rabbi from New York.

“His father was an Israeli Airlines rabbi. And he came to me with a request to pass half a million dollars through my fund so that the amount would not be taxed. He claimed that a wealthy family wanted to give them to him. He said he would introduce me to a member of that wealthy family, and he introduced me to Simon Leviev. It was his son, but I didn’t know that then,” the rabbi shared.

Even then, Leviev drove expensive cars and seemed extraordinarily rich through the prism of social networks, where it is easy to fake photos from private jets and luxury hotel rooms.

In Russia, there are also similar scammers using dating apps. The most famous of them is Dmitry Frolov, who deceived hundreds of women. To Alla Zaripova, he introduced himself as a successful businessman.

“We came to a car dealership, chose a car, offered my car for trade-in. A few hours later he called back, said that he could sell it on his own and make more money on it. They sold it, I received the money, and when I asked what I would do without a car, he said: “Okay, here is my car, I will give it to you. I take the money, go to a car dealership, you stay in my car, don’t worry, you understand that my car is more expensive, ”the girl said.

Later it turned out that the car was rented, and Alla lost about a million rubles. Alina Milennaya, after meeting Frolov, whom he introduced himself as Igor Belov, lost 6 million, having sold an apartment and a car and was left with a large loan.

Another fraudster named Denis Kabanov acted in the same way. Oksana Shatskova had to sell the apartment and move in with her parents after the loans that the swindler took on her. Kabanov borrowed money for funerals, plates and even a tap, the woman said.

As noted by private detective Konstantin Solovsky, who is involved in the case of Kabanov, he continues to start new relationships.

“Here is a problem, there is a problem, here you need to buy something, then resell it, and it will seem like a profit – I will give it back with interest. In this spirit, a person works, ”Solovskiy says.

When asked why girls often fall for scammers who pretend to be rich, psychologist Andrey Zberovsky answered: “The handwriting of a marriage swindler is always romantic, he, unlike an ordinary man, knows how to surround a lady with rose petals, knows how to serve coffee in bed, give her a massage , take her to SPA treatments, tell her the right compliment, open doors for her. This gallantry is another brightest calling card of a good marriage swindler.

Dmitry Frolov was imprisoned for fraud, Simon Leviev became famous after the release of the film, but said that it was all a lie.

Earlier, on February 12, Moscow private detective Maxim Zabolotny spoke about the most common Tinder fraud scheme. According to him, scammers can even have long-term relationships with girls, up to five years. The basic scheme of “divorce” is the illusion of a prosperous life. The scammers are trying to show their alleged solvency, even by booking a room in an expensive hotel on the dark web at a big discount in order to invite a girl there.

However, then everything changes dramatically. The swindler says that his card was blocked or all accounts were arrested, so he urgently needs a small amount. Girls, as Zabolotny notes, do not suspect that a person with private jets and expensive watches will not return the amount of money lent to him.

The story about the love affairs of a swindler from Tinder received a wide response in the world community. What is the phenomenon of such popularity and why the fraudster is at large – see the Dobrov on Air program on February 13 at 23:00.
