In Buryatia, a criminal case has been opened on the fact of wounding two minors from firearms, the suspect has been detained. This was reported on February 14 by the regional Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia (SU SK).

“On February 14, at night, two boys, 14 and 16 years old, were hospitalized in the Petropavlovsk Central District Hospital with gunshot wounds to the lower extremities. A criminal case has been initiated on the grounds of a crime under Part 3 of Art. 30, part 1, art. 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Attempted murder”). On suspicion of committing this crime, the 29-year-old stepfather of the affected children was detained,» the message says.

According to investigators, the man has recently begun to show signs of jealousy towards his cohabitant, the mother of teenagers. On the evening of February 13, being in a state of alcoholic intoxication, he made a scandal and fired a gun at one child who was protecting his mother, and then at the second. Shot hit the boys in the legs.

Then the offender fled, but he was soon detained. According to the police, the family had not previously been in the field of view of law enforcement agencies, they were not on preventive records.

Minister of Health of Buryatia Evgenia Ludupova said that the minors were stabilized and would be transported to the Children’s Republican Clinical Hospital.

“A large multidisciplinary team of surgeons is already ready to carry out the necessary manipulations,” she said.

On February 13, it was reported that the Investigative Committee of Russia opened a criminal case after a resident of Sredneuralsk (Sverdlovsk region) shot his seriously ill wife with a hunting rifle. The body of the deceased was sent for examination. As the main version, a domestic conflict is considered against the background of alcohol abuse.
