On February 14, the Kuibyshevsky District Court of St. Petersburg will consider a lawsuit filed by lawyer Elnara Troitskaya about abuse of rights against lawyer Igor Mirzoev. The latter became known at the end of 2021 as accusing Santa Claus of not receiving gifts for 23 years.
“The session will be in the Kuibyshev court on February 14. The lawsuit will be considered, I have all the evidence base ready, ”RIA Novosti quotes Troitskaya.
The statement of claim says that on December 22, Mirzoev “spread information discrediting the feelings of believers in Santa Claus.” The defendant deliberately filed a lawsuit with shortcomings, so Troitskaya asks to recognize Mirzoev’s behavior in filing a lawsuit as an abuse of the right and to recover 10 million rubles in moral damages in her favor.
On December 23, Russian President Vladimir Putin commented on the situation with the lawsuit during a press conference. He expressed his readiness to become Father Frost’s lawyer and remind the plaintiff that only “good girls and boys” receive gifts. Mirzoev, in a commentary to Izvestia, was surprised that his story reached the head of state. As the lawyer noted, he is glad that he was able to draw attention to this situation.
At the same time, Elnara Troitskaya, a resident of St. Petersburg, appealed to the court and the prosecutor’s office demanding that Mirzoev be punished. She considered his statement offensive and appealed to the court and the prosecutor’s office with a request to recover 10 million rubles from Mirzoev.
On December 24, the joint press service of the courts of the Vologda Oblast reported that Mirzoev’s lawsuit against Ded Moroz JSC was registered, but on December 29, Igor Mirzoev withdrew his statement of claim.
