In the Moscow region, rescuers warned of the danger of going out on the ice, as it becomes fragile due to warming.
The temperature in the region has been above 0 degrees for the past few days, which leads to the formation of thawed patches. Rescuers are constantly monitoring the situation, at present dangerously thin ice has become on 10 reservoirs, writes Life.ru.
“According to the results of monitoring 52 reservoirs, where measurements were made in the past day, another one was added to nine of them, where dangerous areas were previously found,” Anatoly Plevako, the first deputy head of the Mosoblpozhspas GKU MO, quotes the 360 TV channel.
According to rescuers, the danger is represented by places where ice holes were previously made. Such areas can be overlooked under the snow and fall through the ice, the website kp.ru writes.
On February 13, Evgeny Tishkovets, a leading employee of the Phobos weather center, predicted anomalous heat in Moscow until the end of winter and early March. The average monthly air temperature this February is 4 degrees above normal, and this trend will intensify during the week, approaching record levels.
