Deputy head of the Tambov region highway department found dead in the entrance

In Tambov, at the entrance of an apartment building along Astrakhanskaya Street, the body of 56-year-old deputy head of the department of roads and transport of the Tambov region, Viktor Vakulchik, was found with stab wounds. This was announced on Monday, February 14, by the press service of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee (SU SK) for the region.

It is noted that investigators and criminologists are working at the scene, and law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.

“The investigation is working out various versions of the motives for what happened, including the version that the crime could be related to his official activities,” the report says.

Investigators opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 1 of Art. 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Murder”.

Viktor Vakulchik has been working in government since 2016. Prior to that, he led the Tambovtrans company, which was engaged in passenger transportation in the city.
